Space Buddy should not stop after explaining the Universe. When a real research opportunity exists, it should help the user take the next step.

Explore: discover an object, mission or question.

Learn: understand the relevant science and evidence.

Observe: use your own equipment, a remote telescope or archived data when available.

Analyze: follow the official project's tools and methods.

Contribute: submit results through the official research workflow.

Share: document what you learned and help the next participant.

NASA Exoplanet Watch is a strong example because anyone can participate. People with telescopes can observe transiting exoplanets. People without telescopes can request or analyze data. NASA provides tutorials and the EXOTIC analysis workflow.

Space Buddy can explain what a transit is, show the planet, retrieve supporting information from the Exoplanet Archive and then hand the user into the official Exoplanet Watch workflow.

The project can maintain a vetted registry of astronomy and space related citizen science programs. Each entry should identify the official operator, prerequisites, task type, data source, contribution method and whether participants can receive recognition.

Future telescope integrations can connect users to partner or public observation resources where documented access or formal arrangements exist. Space Buddy should never assume access to a telescope network without a supported interface or agreement.

Citizen scientists can test guided research flows, review data, help document methods, classify observations, evaluate usability and contribute research notes.
